Bio-Design’s Zinc Orotate provides effective support for healthy immune function. contains 135 mg of zinc orotate per 1 capsule serving, of which 20 mg is elemental zinc. Zinc Orotate is formed by the reaction of orotic acid with zinc.  Since Orotic acid is an organic substance that occurs naturally in our cells, the reacted orotate form allows for optimum absorption and bioavailability.

Bio-Design's Zinc Orotate is a true orotate.  Many of the so-called zinc orotates on the market are dry blends of zinc oxide powder and orotic acid powder.  They are actually non-reacted zinc oxide orotic acid complexes, not orotates.  As complexes they will lack the high bioavailability of true orotates.

The renowned German physician, Dr. Hans Nieper pioneered mineral orotate research. Orotic Acid was historically considered to be vitamin B-13.
